Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile and tech-savvy professional to serve as an HVAC Design & Technology Coordinator. In this role, you will work directly with the company owner to lead the design-build process for commercial and residential HVAC projects. You will be the bridge between conceptual design, digital coordination, and the advanced technology controls that power modern HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Drafting: Create detailed 2D and 3D HVAC designs, ductwork layouts, and piping diagrams using AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and other drafting platforms.
- Spatial Coordination: Utilize Navisworks to perform clash detection and coordinate designs with other trades (electrical, plumbing, structural) to ensure seamless field installation.
- HVAC Controls & Tech: Oversee the implementation of HVAC technology controls and building automation systems (BAS).
- Computer Applications: Apply computer programming skills to automate design routines and customize workflows.
- Design-Build Collaboration: Support the owner in evaluating project requirements, performing load calculations, and attending site visits to verify as-built conditions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Drafting Expertise: High proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and Navisworks.
- HVAC Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical drafting principles, duct sizing, and airflow dynamics.
- Technical Literacy: Proven experience with IT systems and an understanding of HVAC control sequences.
- Programming: Skill in programming (e.g., Python, LISP, or Dynamo for Revit) to improve drafting productivity.
- Communication: Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts for the owner, field crews, and clients.
Preferred Education & Experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in HVAC drafting or coordination.
- Degree or certification in Mechanical Design, CAD, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $33.00 per hour
