About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Field Engineer to support field operations on a utility-scale solar project in Illinois. This role will work closely with the Mechanical Superintendent and Construction team to ensure installation activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in renewable energy and gain hands-on experience in large-scale construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support mechanical installation activities including racking, tracker systems, and module installation
- Assist with layout verification, quality control, and inspections in the field
- Track daily production and report progress to project leadership
- Help ensure work is performed according to drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines
- Coordinate with subcontractors and field crews to maintain schedule and workflow
- Identify and help resolve field issues in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, RFIs, and punch lists
- Assist with material tracking, deliveries, and inventory management
- Promote and enforce job site safety standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 1–4+ years of construction experience (Utility scale solar experience is a MUST))
- Familiarity with utility-scale solar or large commercial/industrial projects preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Willingness to work in a field-based environment and travel as needed
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
