Must Haves:
- Skill in physicochemical method development, sample preparation, instrument operation, and data analysis
- Instrumental evaluation skills: rheometry, pycnometry, polarimetry, microscopy, particle size determination, XRD, TGA, DSC, DVS, FTIR, Raman, SEM-EDS, DLS, BET/SSA
- Individual should have strong understanding of materials science and aptitude for analysis and critical thinking.
- Education:
- Minimum level: B.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Nanoscience, or Material Science background
5+ years of laboratory work experience in a GLP/GMP environment evaluating a wide variety powder and liquid materials, or an advanced degree in relevant field can substitute for work experience years. (2+ for MS or 0+ for PhD)
- Preferred: PhD OR MS Degree with relevant experience
- Specialization in Material Science or Nanoscience
Responsibilities:
- Operate sophisticated materials characterization equipment and perform routine instrument maintenance, verifications, and calibrations.
- Support novel investigations that require extensive innovative problem solving, utilizing a knowledge of instrument capability and an understanding of material properties.
- Perform a variety of critical analyses, as well as interpret and report data related to the physicochemical properties of pharmaceutical, nutritional, and excipient materials.
- Author, edit, and approve technical documents on projects in a timely manner and present technical work clearly and concisely.
- Perform scientific peer-review for electronic notebook records and technical reports with critical attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Good communication skills in a matrixed environment. Proficient in managing and communicating the expectations of customers and key stakeholders.
