Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with flexibility for remote work. The Energy Efficiency Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing energy efficiency projects to help clients achieve decarbonization objectives. Key tasks include performing energy audits, developing tailored energy management strategies, and applying advanced analytical methods to identify efficiency opportunities. The engineer will also work with the Director of Carbon Intelligence and Analytics to define and prioritize product needs to enhance the quality of answers or create new insights across a range of GHG inventory and decarbonization financial and carbon modeling topics.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Energy Engineering and Energy Management practices, including subject matter expertise across HVAC, lighting, and industrial systems
- Attention to scalability in modeling, including strong intuition for how to create default assumptions, data hierarchies, and fallback logic design
- Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate data and identify energy optimization opportunities
- Expertise in Mechanical Engineering principles and systems
- Experience in energy analysis, simulation tools; Experience in product design or software development (Python, R) is strongly preferred
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with decarbonization strategies and sustainability practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; a Master’s degree is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage hybrid work environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
