About the Role
The Multifamily Asset Management Analyst will play a key role in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of a diverse portfolio of multifamily assets. This role combines financial analysis, operational oversight, and market research to support business plans, investment returns, and capital strategies. The Analyst will collaborate cross-functionally with Asset Managers, Acquisitions, Property Management, and Accounting teams to drive value creation and ensure strong asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for internal leadership, capital partners, and lenders.
- Review property operating statements, rent rolls, and budget variance reports to identify
- key performance drivers, shortfalls, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain and update financial models (Excel) to reflect leasing updates, capital activity, and market assumption changes.
- Lead ad hoc analyses, market comps, and forecasting initiatives to support Asset Management.
- Operational & Portfolio Analysis
- Support asset managers with analytical and operational assistance across leasing, marketing, budgeting, and property operations platforms.
- Benchmark property-level performance against approved budgets and provide variance analyses.
- Track and monitor capital projects, draws, and distribution activity, ensuring compliance with joint venture agreements and lender requirements.
- Assist with review and approval of annual operating budgets and forecasts.
- Leasing & Marketing Analysis
- Support retail leasing by reviewing LOIs, assisting in lease negotiations, and maintaining tenant relationships where applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in multi-family real estate asset management, private equity, investment banking, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong financial modeling skills in Excel preferred.
- Familiarity with property-level operations, budgeting, leasing strategies, and financial reporting.
- Ability to interpret complex financial reports (rent rolls, T12s, variance analyses) and distill insights for internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with Yardi, RealPage, MRI, or similar property management systems a plus.
- Willingness to travel for property visits, market research, and due diligence.
