SUMMARY
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating all engineering aspects of a project from concept to shipment, in support of vacuum systems used globally in the Semiconductor, Industrial, Medical and Electronic markets.
They will require enough knowledge and experience to manage projects from the design & concept phases to fulfilling every aspect of the required executions. Including a strict focus to deliver on time and within budget, while fulfilling all the practical system or project requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Supervises the electrical and mechanical design, documentation, development, and processes that produce the company's products.
Acts as technical consultant to internal and external customers. Reviews technical issues and problems with customers to develop workable solutions.
Evaluates equipment and product failures, and makes judgments on solutions.
Generates and controls budget and schedules for the department to meet goals.
Participates in formulating and administering engineering policies and developing long range goals and objectives.
Directs and coordinates activities of Engineering for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and objectives.
Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or
division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
Confers with Senior Staff members to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
Serves as member of management committees on special studies.
Reviews specifications, assesses work requirements and responds to quotation requests, generating a variety of engineering-related reports as required.
Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring project schedules, performance and cost, to inform management of project status.
Develops work scopes, budgets, schedules and supervises projects that require outside contractors and suppliers. Reviews outside support bids and awards contracts as necessary.
Some travel is required, domestic US and international.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a valid California Driver's license with a clean record (necessary to rent vehicles from outside vendors as needed).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Masters of Science in Engineering degree or 10+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrable experience or education in both project management and mechanical design, including modeling and simulations. Must be proficient in utilizing Solidworks 3D CAD software along with the standard engineering practices utilizing Solidworks Product Data Management (PDM) software and engineering change order processes.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
The ability to speak foreign language such a Spanish, or German offers is highly desirable.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
