- Daily and weekly standup meetings between Electric Boat and BAE
This new position is for an Engineering Supervisor within the D440 SSN Payload Launch Control department supporting the SSN-AUKUS (SSNA) Ocean Interfaces Team, responsible for the supervision of a multi-disciplinary team assigned to a wide range of engineering tasks related to the design of the control system for the Vertical Delivery Tubes for SSNA as well as payload integration efforts. The team will primarily be comprised of electrical, computer and system engineers. The team is responsible for the delivery of the design and material associated with the VDT Control System, with potential synergies to the CFE VIRGINIA Payload Support Electronics System, to enable the systems to be built, commissioned, operated and maintained through its service life. These mission and safety critical embedded closed loop control systems with high I/O have stringent safety and security requirements, in addition to requiring high reliability, availability, maintainability and usability. Successful development and qualification of these complex systems are achieved through leveraging CMMI and systems engineering principles. The team is also responsible for ensuring that the work delivered by the individual delivery work streams results in a mature, balanced platform design in line with the design principles to achieve agreed performance requirements.
