Job Summary:
Stern Pinball Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experiences Electrical Engineer. The candidate will design, develop and support electronics components for pinball machines. The candidate will ensure that all electrical systems meet industry standards contribute to the overall quality and success of the products.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and implement new electronic systems and features for pinball machines at the direction of the Director of Electrical Engineering.
- Responsible for maintaining system integrity within designs and electronics architecture.
- Identifies and integrates new technologies and components into our products as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards (UL, FCC, CE-EMI).
- Work closely with mechanical engineers, game designers, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Develop and maintain electrical engineering documentation, i.e. Schematics, PCB layouts,
- Bills of Materials (BOM’s) and Maintains Approved Vendor List. (AVL) of electronic components.
- Works with the ERP system (Visual-Infor) as required.
- Self manages and tracks tasks and resources to accomplish development goals.
- Works closely with game development teams to apply new and existing electronics component designs to support game features as required.
- Develop Test Fixtures and equipment to support external electronics board assembly houses and internal production efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (BSCE) with focus on electronic hardware circuit and components.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design and development.
- Must be capable of collaborating effectively in a multi-disciplinary development environment.
- Proficient understanding of digital, analog, and power circuits.
- Proficient with electrical design and layout tools (EAGLE preferred).
- Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Technical Skills and understanding
- Digital circuits
- Microprocessors
- Analog circuits (Audio and Power supply)
- Power supplies (linear and switcher) up to 10 Amps using moderate voltages (48V)
- Electromagnetics (coils and solenoids)
- AC/DC Motors and Stepper motor control
- PCB Fabrication methods (Assembly, Soldering) to guide designs for manufacturability.
- Understanding of vendor capabilities for PCB layout design for manufacturability.
- Mechanical aptitude for engage interactively with mechanical engineers (lighting, sensors, motion control)
- Test Fixture design, construction, and training for external electronic assembly manufacturing vendors
- Power system analysis and optimization (distribution, loading, balancing)
- Electrical ERP data management (AVL, BOMs, component identification)
- Programming experience (e.g., Visual Studio, Arduino, Raspberry Pi) for bench testing and test fixture development

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
