Global Firm pursuing an opportunistic investment approach across global markets targeting a variety of transaction types based on highly customized programs for its institutional investor base. These may include private equity and venture capital fund partnerships, secondaries, and direct and co-investments. The Firm applies a thematic approach, concentrating capital in key sectors that are exhibiting outsized growth often accelerated by the application of technology. With approximately $3.5 billion under management, the firm invests in these fast-growing markets on behalf of some of the largest institutions in the world.
This position would be focused on an investment mandate in the Caribbean, pursuing growth stage investments in leading companies across the region. The ideal candidate has professional-level Spanish fluency and would either be based in or willing to relocate to Puerto Rico.
The Vice President is a core member of the investment team, working alongside deal team members across all stages of the deal lifecycle, as well as supporting team members across other core initiatives. The successful candidate will be the Firm’s initial professional to be based in Puerto Rico. Specific responsibilities include:
- Actively support senior team members in the review and execution of investment opportunities. The candidate would:
- Identify and analyze potential investment opportunities: actively engage with family-owned companies, entrepreneurs, and advisors to source investment opportunities, develop market maps, and oversee proactive outreach efforts to advisors, business owners, and other investors active in the region;
- Support the development of complex financial models to evaluate potential investment returns for transactions under consideration;
- Lead the preparation materials for Investment Committee review ranging from initial investment screens to detailed investment memoranda;
- Coordinate internal and external workstreams on financial/tax, legal, and commercial due diligence;
- Coordinate and prepare transaction documentation;
- Post-investment, support board-level engagement and oversight of key operating metrics and financial performance.
- Support senior team members in the firm’s marketing initiatives. The candidate would:
- Update and maintain investor presentation materials; and
- Identify and support research into new product development.
· Actively support the firm’s ESG and Impact investing initiatives. The candidate would:
- Assist in developing appropriate ESG and Impact processes; and
- Prepare materials and reports as necessary.
- Actively participate and support the CFO and the investment team in the portfolio monitoring and reporting process. The candidate would:
- Oversee, update, and maintain the firm’s internal transaction and performance database; and
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports to investors.
Qualifications
· An ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant professional experience, including 3-5 years in private equity
· Detail oriented, strong organizational skills
· An inquiring mind, good discipline, and attention to detail
· Strong project management and execution skills—an ability to meet challenging deadlines while maintaining a high degree of quality and accuracy
· Excellent written communication skills
· Demonstrated experience in financial statement analysis and valuation techniques
· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a time critical, transaction-oriented environment
· Willingness to travel overseas, with travel throughout the Caribbean a core responsibility
· Bilingual English/Spanish required (written and verbal)
