Lead Advisor, LLC is a wealth management consulting and search firm. This role is for a client, a wealth management practice with locations in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) manages the daily business operations of the company, working closely with department heads and leadership to support the day‑to‑day activities of team members and ensure organizational goals are achieved.
Core Responsibilities
· Collaborate with the leadership team to set organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring levels.
· Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, including organization‑wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operational planning.
· Oversee company operations and team member productivity while building an inclusive culture that enables employees to thrive.
· Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention practices.
· Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations and take appropriate action when necessary.
Team Management & Development
· Oversee the operations of the company and the work of senior leaders and department heads.
· Design and implement business strategies, plans, and operational procedures.
· Promote communication and cooperation among divisions to create unity across the organization.
· Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting operational data and metrics and providing reports to the leadership team.
Business Development
· Contribute to the growth of the firm’s brand through participation in marketing, professional, and community initiatives.
· Participate in identifying and developing potential wealth management firm acquisition opportunities.
· Support initiatives that drive new client growth and overall business development.
· There are no required personal business development targets related to private client acquisition, though contributions are welcomed and rewarded.
Firm Leadership & Development
· Support and help execute the strategic initiatives of the firm.
· Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
· Set comprehensive goals for organizational performance and growth.
Qualifications Required
· Bachelor’s degree
· 10+ years of experience in operations management or a similar leadership role
· 5+ years of experience in the wealth management or investment management industry
· Proven track record of executive leadership and operational excellence
· Strong knowledge of operational functions including finance, client service, operations, and employee management
· Demonstrated ability to design and manage operational processes for efficiency and productivity
Preferred
· Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
