Longfellow Design Build, Inc., a reputable design-build firm and real estate developer, is seeking a skilled Licensed Architect for our Boston, New Hampshire & Cape Cod divisions. We are looking for natural leaders who can thrive and contribute to our fast-paced team environment. The candidate will perform all phases of architectural work including planning, designing and overseeing the construction. You will be involved in new building designs, extensions, alterations, restorations and conservations from the earliest stages right through to completion. The goal is to match client’s needs and to produce sustainable, functional and aesthetically pleasing designs.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, goals, and budget for the project.
- Create conceptual designs and develop detailed architectural plans, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and zoning laws.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve any design-related issues.
- Review and approve material samples, finishes, and construction details.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other architectural tools to create and present design proposals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in architectural technology and sustainability.
- Draft technical documentation and specifications for construction purposes.
Qualifications:
- Licensed architect with a strong portfolio showcasing your design projects.
- Proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp.
- Sound knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
