We are looking for a Procurement Consultant to support a contract engagement in New York, New York. This role will guide procurement strategy, strengthen purchasing operations, and help ensure sound financial oversight across the organization. The consultant will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to improve sourcing, vendor management, and compliance practices while delivering measurable value.
Responsibilities:
• Shape and carry out a procurement approach that supports organizational priorities, budget objectives, and operational needs.
• Work alongside finance leaders to contribute to planning activities, spending controls, and cost management efforts.
• Direct sourcing activities from supplier evaluation through contract discussions and purchasing execution.
• Oversee the full procure-to-pay cycle to promote accuracy, visibility, and timely processing.
• Develop category-focused purchasing strategies for major spend areas such as facilities, technology, and consulting services.
• Lead negotiations for complex supplier agreements with attention to pricing, service expectations, and risk reduction.
• Monitor vendor performance, maintain productive supplier relationships, and address contract compliance issues as needed.
• Produce reporting on spend trends, savings opportunities, and procurement performance indicators to support decision-making.
• Improve procurement workflows, tools, and data usage, including initiatives tied to digital process enhancement and system optimization.
• Demonstrated experience in corporate procurement and broad knowledge of end-to-end procurement functions.
• Strong background in purchase order management, buying processes, and supplier engagement.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and secure favorable commercial terms.
• Familiarity with procure-to-pay operations, internal controls, and policy-driven purchasing environments.
• Ability to analyze spending patterns, identify improvement opportunities, and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience partnering with finance, legal, and business stakeholders in a collaborative setting.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a contract consulting role.
