The Opportunity
FHS Risk is seeking experienced insurance professionals to join our team in a hybrid capacity — three days per week in our Midtown Manhattan office. You will work alongside our risk consultants and principals on insurance diligence for commercial real estate and construction finance transactions, serving institutional lenders and their borrowers on complex originations.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analysis of collateral to develop detailed, deal-specific insurance requirements across commercial real estate asset classes and construction programs based on geography. Asset class, and lender’s risk appetite.
- In-depth review of borrowers’ proposed insurance programs, identifying coverage gaps and communicating findings clearly to lenders and clients
- Review and negotiation of requirements within loan covenants and risk transfer agreements to ensure proper protection of collateral and lender interests
- Assessment of market conditions to contextualize proposed insurance terms and provide lender a risk analysis of the proposed terms and conditions against market standards and asset / project risk management needs
- Preparation and delivery of detailed executive summary reports and client-facing deal deliverables
- Manage deal pipeline and client status reporting, tracking open issues through to resolution
Qualifications
- 4+ years of commercial insurance experience; background in commercial real estate, hospitality, or construction strongly preferred
- Experience with insurance diligence or debt financing transactions a plus
- Four-year college degree required
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License required
- Professional designation (CPCU, CIC, ARM) a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active deals simultaneously
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office — Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Compensation & Details
$110,000 – $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience
Benefits: Health insurance, 401(k), paid time off
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in-office per week, Midtown Manhattan (10022)
Relocation: Candidates must be able to commute to or relocate to New York, NY 10022 prior to start date
