Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced OSP Construction Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of outside plant (OSP) telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role is essential in ensuring that construction activities adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and schedules. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, project coordination, and technical expertise in fiber optic and broadband deployment. This position offers an opportunity to lead complex projects from inception to completion, contributing to the expansion of vital communication networks.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of OSP construction projects, including site preparation, installation, and commissioning of fiber optic cables and related infrastructure.
- Develop detailed project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 or similar project management software to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to facilitate seamless project execution.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and contracts to verify scope and technical requirements.
- Oversee construction site activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations.
- Utilize construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid for cost control and resource allocation.
- Monitor progress through regular site inspections and update project schedules accordingly.
- Manage procurement processes using Construction management software like ProCore or Bluebeam for documentation and communication.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of schematics and blueprint reading to guide field teams effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive records of project documentation, change orders, and contractual obligations.
- Address issues promptly by implementing effective problem-solving strategies and maintaining clear communication channels.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management within telecommunications or civil construction sectors, specifically with outside plant infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or similar tools.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and cost control techniques.
- Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to civil and fiber optic projects.
- Knowledge of contracts management and compliance requirements in construction projects.
- Skilled in using construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or comparable platforms.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams on complex projects while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Strong understanding of civil 3D modeling software is a plus.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with stakeholders at all levels. Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
