Job Title: Technical Architect

Role Overview
The Technical Architect is responsible for leading the technical execution and architectural coordination of design-build construction projects from initial design phases through final project delivery. This role bridges the gap between design and construction , working cross-functionally with project managers, field operations teams, and engineering consultants to ensure all projects are structurally buildable, highly coordinated, and compliant with technical standards. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of architectural detailing, construction lifecycles, and real-world problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Documentation: Create, develop, and coordinate comprehensive architectural drawing sets, construction documents, complex wall sections, and intricate building assemblies.
- Engineering Coordination: Lead technical synchronization efforts with structural, civil, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineering consultants to ensure design integration.
- Constructability & Compliance Review: Perform rigorous reviews of architectural drawings to verify field constructability, structural integrity, and local building code compliance.
- Field Engineering Support: Resolve Requests for Information (RFIs), manage material submittals, and troubleshoot technical construction issues emerging directly from the field.
- Regulatory & Permitting Management: Direct and assist with agency coordination to streamline permitting processes and ensure legal project compliance.
- Quality Standardization & Mentorship: Establish and improve internal drawing standards to elevate overall project quality, while providing technical guidance and support to junior team members.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related technical field.
- Preferred: Licensed Professional Architect (RA) or actively pursuing professional licensure.
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in architecture, technical design, or commercial construction management.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Expert technical understanding of commercial construction methods, building systems, and building envelopes (including waterproofing and exterior systems).
- Demonstrated capability in Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination, cross-functional communication, and multi-project deadline management.
- Preferred: Practical experience within design-build frameworks or specialized sectors (commercial, industrial, healthcare, or multifamily projects).
