Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lean Manufacturing Consultant role based in Weehawken, NJ. The consultant will assess client manufacturing operations, collect and analyze process data, and map current-state workflows and equipment utilization. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and facilitating Lean initiatives, leading Kaizen and continuous improvement projects, and coaching client teams on Lean tools and methodologies. The role involves developing and implementing business process improvements, supporting vendor performance improvement efforts, and preparing clear reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations. The consultant will collaborate closely with client leadership and cross-functional teams to sustain improvements and track measurable performance gains over time.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Operational Excellence and Business Process Improvement, with a focus on measurable productivity and quality gains.
- Strong background in Lean Management and Operations Management, including hands-on experience implementing Lean tools (e.g., value stream mapping, 5S, standard work, root cause analysis).
- Industrial Engineering or related technical experience, with the ability to analyze workflows, equipment utilization, and production data.
- Proficiency in conducting process assessments, developing improvement roadmaps, and leading cross-functional project teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Effective communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site with clients, manage multiple projects, and adapt to dynamic manufacturing environments.
