Property Accountant
Location: Bellevue, WA
Compensation: Up to $110,000 DOE + Benefits
Our client is a well established and growing real estate organization seeking a Property Accountant to join their accounting team in Bellevue, Washington. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse commercial and/or multifamily property portfolio while partnering closely with property management and operations teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong property accounting experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties
- Perform month end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Analyze operating results and investigate variances to budget and prior periods
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
- Review and maintain general ledger activity for assigned properties
- Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and year end audit requests
- Support CAM reconciliations and tenant billings, as applicable
- Coordinate with property managers to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls
- Assist with process improvements and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within commercial real estate, multifamily, or property management
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience preparing full cycle property financial statements
- Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions
- Experience with property management/accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, RealPage, Entrata, or similar preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
