Join our innovative aerospace team as a Mechatronics, Flight Test Engineer specializing in UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) development and testing. In this dynamic role, you will support the integration of hardware, software, and sensors within cutting-edge drone systems utilizing PX4 and ArduPilot flight control software.
Your expertise will drive the design, testing, and validation of robotic aerial platforms, ensuring they meet rigorous safety and performance standards. Duties
- Lead the integration of hardware components such as sensors, actuators, and avionics into UAV platforms, ensuring seamless system operation.
- Develop and implement software solutions using languages like C++, Python, and MATLAB to enhance flight control algorithms and sensor data processing.
- Conduct comprehensive flight tests to evaluate UAV performance, stability, and safety under various conditions while adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and industry standards.
- Perform root cause analysis on system failures or anomalies using tools like LabVIEW and Signal Processing techniques to improve reliability.
- Collaborate with systems engineering teams to develop detailed requirements management documents and system design specifications aligned with AS9100 aerospace quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in aerospace or robotics systems engineering with a focus on UAVs or autonomous aircraft.
- Hands-on expertise with avionics systems, sensors (such as inertial measurement units or GPS modules), signal processing, and data collection techniques.
- Proficiency in software development environments including C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, and requirements management tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards for manufacturing and assembly processes; experience working within AS9100 quality management systems is a plus.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
