SUMMARY DESCRIPTION Under direction, oversees and coordinates the assigned tasks of the Rome Art and Community Center (RACC), including promoting activities and services of the RACC; implements program goals and objectives; responds to a variety of questions and inquiries regarding the RACC; and provides highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the RACC Executive Director.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
The employee may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Specifications are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.
1. Promote and coordinate activities within the Rome Art and Community Center’s program; prepare program events and facility marketing material, including press releases, flyers, schedules of events, pamphlets, brochures, monthly calendars, and other necessary marketing materials.
2. Update and maintain the RACC’s website as necessary.
3. Create and maintain the master calendar of events of the RACC.
4. Assist in producing and coordinating a variety of events at the RACC, including community events, art exhibitions, concerts, and other events as needed to help fulfill the RACC’s mission.
5. Perform related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The following generally describes the knowledge and abilities required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Knowledge of: Basic operations, services, and activities of arts and community center programming. Marketing theories, principles, and practices. Methods and techniques of public relations. Graphic design skills. Office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers and applicable software applications.
Ability to: Coordinate and direct the day-to-day operations of a variety of art programs. Recommend and implement goals and objectives for marketing RACC programs. Elicit community and organizational support for programs. Plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines. Work under high stress conditions. Work independently without supervision. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Education: Any combination of education and experience that is likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities qualifies.
Experience: One to two years of increasingly responsible marketing experience.
