Financial Planner, CFP® Professional
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Financial Planner to join our growing wealth management team. The ideal candidate is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with a passion for building long-term client relationships and delivering comprehensive financial advice.
This role is responsible for leading client relationships, developing personalized financial plans, collaborating with internal team members, and serving as a trusted advisor to individuals and families.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to always acting in clients’ best interests.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Cultivate prospective client leads.
- Serve as the primary advisor for an assigned group of client relationships.
- Lead client meetings and maintain ongoing communication with clients and their families.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships through proactive outreach and exceptional service.
- Identify evolving client needs and recommend appropriate planning strategies.
- Collaborate with support staff and other advisors to ensure a seamless client experience.
Financial Planning
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive financial plans.
- Provide advice related to:
o Retirement planning
o Investment management
o Tax planning strategies
o Estate planning coordination
o Insurance and risk management
o Education funding
o Cash flow and debt management
- Analyze client data and prepare recommendations using financial planning software.
- Monitor client progress and adjust strategies as goals and circumstances evolve.
Business Development
- Cultivate relationships with centers of influence, including attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals.
- Participate in networking events, educational seminars, and community activities.
- Support the firm's business development initiatives through referrals and strategic relationship building.
- Contribute to the growth and retention of the firm's client base.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with team members to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records and documentation.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Qualifications
Required
- CFP® certification in good standing.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, financial planning, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience independently leading client relationships within a financial planning or wealth management firm.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning concepts, investment principles, and retirement planning strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and manage multiple client relationships effectively.
- Proficiency with financial planning software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Experience working in a Fee-Only or fiduciary advisory environment.
- Experience with tax planning and estate planning coordination.
