Private Equity Associate (Immediate Hire)
Associate Program Overview: Sterling is seeking outstanding individuals to join its Greenwich, Connecticut-based team as Associates. These Associates will take an active role in the evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and financing of transactions, and will assist with the monitoring of Sterling’s portfolio investments. Associates will work on small deal teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. As such, they will have frequent interaction with the most senior members of the team, as well as with the senior management of Sterling’s portfolio companies, and be expected to take on significant responsibilities within deal teams. Associates will be exposed to a wide variety of companies and industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market and company research in support of Sterling’s investment activities.
- Perform financial analysis, including valuation and modeling, to assess potential investments.
- Perform due diligence in connection with the evaluation of investment opportunities, including of industry trends and competitive dynamics.
- Draft clear and concise investment memoranda for internal and external parties.
- Participate in the ongoing management and monitoring of Sterling’s investment portfolio.
- Liaise with third parties, including lawyers, accountants, consultants, and investment bankers.
- Prepare and undertake additional projects as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires a BA or BSc degree.
- ~2 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, or other relevant fields.
- Strong understanding of accounting and finance.
- Financial modeling and analysis proficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of motivation, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
