Role Description The Sales Associate is a full-time, on-site position based in Elizabeth, NJ. In this role, the Sales Associate greets customers, listens to their needs, and guides them through selecting suitable pre-owned vehicles from the inventory. Daily responsibilities include presenting vehicle features and benefits, coordinating test drives, explaining financing and trade-in options, and supporting customers with paperwork and documentation. The Sales Associate also follows up with leads, maintains accurate customer records in dealership systems, and collaborates with team members to meet sales targets and deliver a positive showroom experience. This role requires consistent professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate clearly with a diverse range of customers.
- Sales aptitude, including comfort with consultative selling, negotiation, and handling objections in a professional manner.
- Basic understanding of automotive features, vehicle types, and interest in learning more about pre-owned vehicles and financing options.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple customers, follow-up activities, and accurate documentation throughout the sales process.
- Ability to work on-site in Elizabeth, NJ, including evenings and weekends as needed in a retail dealership environment.
- Proficiency with basic computer tools (email, CRM or sales software, digital forms) and willingness to learn dealership systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in automotive sales, retail sales, or customer-facing roles is preferred but not required.
