Position Summary
Sales Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the activities of the North America sales team, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives, customer strategies, and revenue goals. This role serves as the primary liaison between the Manager-North America and the Key Account Managers, providing leadership, guidance, performance monitoring, and operational support to maximize sales effectiveness and customer engagement. The position combines sales leadership, account management oversight, reporting, and project coordination to ensure consistent execution of sales strategies across the North American market to reach revenue objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Key Account Manager (KAM) team.
- Monitor sales objectives, account plans, and customer engagement activities to ensure alignment with goals.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review priorities, opportunities, challenges, and best practices.
- Assist in setting sales targets, monitoring performance, and tracking achievement of key performance indicators.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to KAMs on customer management, sales initiatives, and internal processes.
- Ensure sales teams are informed of product updates, promotions, policies, and commercial priorities.
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue and market share within assigned markets and customer segments.
- Ensure timely follow-up on customer opportunities and sales actions across the team.
- Coordinate customer reviews, business planning meetings, and contract renewals.
- Ensure consistency in customer communication, account management practices, and reporting standards.
- Act as the first point of escalation for sales-related operational issues.
- Assist in developing annual sales plans and market strategies.
- Analyze sales performance reports, revenue trends, market share data, and account productivity metrics.
- Monitor sales activity through Salesforce CRM and other reporting tools to ensure accurate documentation of customer interactions and opportunities in Salesforce.
- Prepare dashboards and management reports for leadership review.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the maintenance and growth of relationships with key industry partners.
- Participate in customer meetings, trade events, conferences, and industry functions.
- Promote adoption of new distribution capabilities, digital tools, and sales initiatives.
- Work closely with Marketing and Distribution teams to support commercial objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Aviation, Hospitality, or related field.
- Extensive airline or travel industry, and account management experience.
- Previous experience leading or coordinating a sales team preferred.
- Strong understanding of airline distribution, travel agency sales, and corporate account management.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and business reporting tools.
- Proficient in Amadeus or another Global Distribution System (GDS).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Results-oriented with strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build positive working relationships.
