Role Description
Owting is looking for a Local Growth, Community Partnerships, & Events Manager to help launch and grow active communities in key local markets. This role is focused on solving the local “cold start” problem: helping Owting build enough user activity, local partnerships, events, and community momentum for the app to feel useful and engaging in a specific city or neighborhood. You will research local communities, identify partnership opportunities, support outreach campaigns, coordinate events and activations, and help turn community insights into practical growth initiatives. You will work closely with the product and marketing teams to improve user acquisition, engagement, and retention.
Responsibilities
- Identify and activate local communities, organizations, groups, and event partners.
- Support local outreach, partnership, and grassroots growth campaigns.
- Help coordinate community events, activations, and promotional initiatives.
- Track user acquisition, engagement, retention, and community activity metrics.
- Turn data and user feedback into clear action plans.
- Communicate with users, partners, and internal team members.
- Support initiatives that strengthen Owting’s brand presence in local markets.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to represent Owting professionally.
- Analytical mindset with comfort reviewing data, metrics, and user behavior.
- Foundational sales, outreach, partnership, or business development skills.
- Basic project management skills, including organization, follow-through, and timeline management.
- Interest in community building, local events, social apps, or social impact.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with social apps, online communities, event platforms, or grassroots marketing is a plus.
- Experience or coursework in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Entrepreneurship, or a related field is preferred but not required.
