Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer located in Seymour, IN. The Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer will lead manufacturing process efforts to ensure final products meet standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting quality control inspections, performing R&D trial, analyzing OEE and equipment efficiency data, generating work standards an technical packages, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance equipment reliability. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Polymer Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited university
- 1–3 years of experience as a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment; plastics or polymer processing experience preferred
- Proven experience supporting production lines, including ownership of documentation, compliance, and training of cross-functional teams
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing equipment such as extruders, blenders, feeders, dryers, blowers, pumps, etc.
- Hands-on experience performing equipment troubleshooting and tracking major manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, waste reduction, and yield
- Strong technical expertise in equipment troubleshooting and design.
- Ability to generate, maintain, and report manufacturing documentation with high accuracy and organization
- Proficiency in core Six Sigma and problem-solving methodologies, including RCA, 8D, CAPA, and PPAP
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and proven record of utilizing work orders through CMMS
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in plastics manufacturing, compounding, extrusion, or injection molding.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) certification from an accredited institution (ASQ)
"Annual base salary range for this role is between $80K to $100K"
