Position Summary
The Marketing & Creative Design Manager is a junior-level position within the Marketing team responsible for the creative development, production, and execution of marketing materials across the company's hospitality portfolio, including Club Quarters Hotels, Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel, and Rusk House.
This role owns the design, content development, and distribution of email marketing campaigns while serving as the primary creative resource for hotel operations, sales, and marketing teams. The position also oversees social media management for Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel and manages the agency relationship for Rusk House's social media strategy.
The Marketing & Creative Design Manager will support brand storytelling through creative design, digital marketing, photography, content creation, and marketing communications while ensuring consistency across all guest-facing touchpoints.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, creative individual with strong graphic design skills, excellent attention to detail, outstanding writing abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Email Marketing & Communications
o Own the end-to-end production of email marketing campaigns for Club Quarters Hotels, Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel, and Rusk House.
o Design and develop branded email newsletters and promotional campaigns.
o Write, edit, and proofread email content in partnership with the Corporate Marketing team.
o Build, test, schedule, and distribute emails through the company's CRM/email marketing platform IRU.
o Coordinate content and creative with internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
o Maintain the editorial and promotional email calendar.
o Monitor campaign performance and recommend strategies to improve engagement, open rates, and conversions.
Creative Design
o Design compelling marketing collateral across print and digital platforms.
o Create brochures, sales collateral, presentations, one-sheets, flyers, advertisements, promotional materials, digital assets, social media graphics, and branded templates.
o Develop creative assets supporting hotel promotions, seasonal campaigns, events, and corporate initiatives.
o Produce marketing materials for Club Quarters Hotels, Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel, and Rusk House while maintaining each brand's visual identity.
o Design creative assets for digital advertising, website updates, presentations, internal communications, and marketing campaigns.
o Support brand storytelling through strong visual concepts, typography, layout, imagery selection, and creative execution.
Hotel Operations Creative Support
o Serve as the primary creative resource for operational design needs across the hotel portfolio, including but not limited to: signage, Innspire screen content, In-room collateral, guest communications, templates and brand operational materials.
Sales Creative Support
Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel & Rusk House
o Design and update sales collateral for Sales and Business Development teams.
o Create presentations, fact sheets, sales brochures, promotional flyers, media kits, branded templates, and proposal materials.
o Support hotel teams with customized creative materials for client presentations, partnerships, group sales, weddings, and special events.
o Assist in developing marketing materials that support revenue generation and business development initiatives.
o Support the creation of property-specific materials that showcase hotel offerings, experiences, and event opportunities.
Social Media Management
Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel
o Own the day-to-day management of the hotel's Instagram and Facebook channels.
o Develop and maintain the social media content calendar.
o Create engaging social media content, including graphics, captions, Stories, Reels, and promotional assets.
o Coordinate with hotel leadership to highlight events, promotions, restaurant offerings, guest experiences, and seasonal programming.
o Publish content, monitor engagement, respond to comments and direct messages as appropriate, and foster community engagement.
o Track performance metrics and provide monthly reporting with recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and audience growth.
o Stay current on social media trends and recommend new content ideas and best practices.
Rusk House
o Serve as the primary corporate liaison with the hotel's third-party social media agency.
o Coordinate strategy, campaign planning, content calendars, approvals, and creative direction with the agency.
o Review content to ensure consistency with the Rusk House brand and overall marketing objectives.
o Assist in developing campaign concepts, influencer partnerships, and promotional initiatives alongside the agency.
Brand Management
o Ensure consistency across all guest-facing communications and marketing materials.
o Maintain and apply brand standards across Club Quarters Hotels, Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel, and Rusk House.
o Organize and maintain digital brand assets, templates, photography, logos, and creative libraries.
o Assist in evolving and implementing brand standards across all creative touchpoints.
o Maintain and optimize brand presence across local search and reputation platforms, ensuring consistent business information, brand standards, imagery, and messaging across Google Business Profile, Bing Places, TripAdvisor, Yext, and other third-party listings.
o Manage website content and visual assets through the CMS, publishing updates and implementing new imagery to ensure the site remains current, engaging, and aligned with brand standards.
Photography & Video Production Support
o Support photography and video production initiatives periodically throughout the year for marketing campaigns, property updates, seasonal initiatives, and brand storytelling.
o Travel to hotel properties as needed to support photography and video shoots.
o Source and coordinate photographers, videographers, stylists, production partners, and other creative vendors.
o Develop mood boards, creative briefs, shot lists, and production plans to communicate creative direction.
o Assist with art direction during photoshoots and video productions to ensure alignment with brand standards.
o Coordinate with hotel operations teams, property leadership, and production crews to ensure smooth execution.
o Manage production timelines, deliverables, approvals, and final asset organization.
o Assist with obtaining vendor estimates, coordinating costs, and securing budget approvals for production projects.
o Review, organize, and maintain photography and video assets for use across websites, social media, email marketing, digital advertising, sales materials, and other marketing channels.
Qualifications
o Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
o 1–3 years of experience in graphic design, creative marketing, content creation, or a related field.
o Hospitality, lifestyle, retail, or travel industry experience is a plus.
o Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in print, digital, email marketing, branding, and social media design.
o Experience designing and producing email marketing campaigns from concept through deployment.
o Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
o Strong visual design, typography, and layout abilities.
o Experience supporting photography, video, or creative production projects is a plus.
o Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
o Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
o Ability to travel occasionally to support property visits and creative projects.
Technical Skills:
o Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
o Experience with Canva and Figma.
o Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Constant Contact, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar.
o Experience managing Instagram and Facebook business accounts.
o Basic understanding of social media analytics and content planning.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
o Experience managing website content through WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
o Basic knowledge of HTML email design is a plus.
o Experience with photography, video editing, or creative production tools is preferred.
