About Steidland Brands:
Steidland Brands is a fast-growing, omni-channel e-commerce startup specializing in the buying and selling of top branded consumer products. With over $20M in revenue in 2025 and on track for a $100M run rate by year end 2026, we're building a data-driven trading powerhouse at the intersection of e-commerce, technology, and global product sourcing.
The Opportunity:
We're hiring an Investment Analyst to work closely with our highly accomplished management team and learn our buying function from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity for someone early in their career to get direct exposure to how a high-velocity trading business sources, evaluates, and purchases inventory using a rigorous, data-backed methodology.
You'll start by supporting deal evaluation, analytics, and vendor coordination, with a path to owning more of the investment decision-making process — including monitoring actual vs. planned sell-through performance — as you grow into the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn Steidland's proprietary inventory acquisition strategies and support day-to-day buying analytics.
- Assist with deal flow analysis, ROI calculations, and purchase decision support across a broad portfolio of consumer goods.
- Support pricing model and vendor relationship analysis alongside senior team members.
- Help maintain and improve internal tools and dashboards used for trading and analytics.
- Build strong working relationships with vendors, trading partners, and internal team members.
- Take on increasing ownership of analytics and operational tasks as you develop.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science, data science, or a related field with a strong academic record.
- 0–2 years of experience (internships in finance, consulting, trading, analytics, or a related quantitative field are a plus, but not required).
- Strong skills in mathematics, data analysis, and financial modeling — academic coursework or independent projects count.
- Background or coursework in computer science, data science, engineering, finance, or economics preferred.
- Comfortable with (or eager to learn) spreadsheet-heavy analysis and financial tools.
- Entrepreneurial mindset — you want to run or start your own company someday.
- Not afraid to roll up your sleeves — you'll handle everything from analytics to operations.
- Comfortable with high-risk, high-reward compensation (lower base + meaningful performance upside).
- High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills.
- Highly coachable but able to work with real autonomy in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: Modest (we're a startup and value skin in the game)
- Performance-Based Bonus: Meaningful upside potential tied to company success
- Equity: Available for exceptional candidates
Other Benefits:
- Medical, Dental, Vision
- Competitive PTO plus all public holidays
Location:
Boston preferred. Open to remote for the right candidate.
