Role Description The Junior Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Patchogue, NY. This position supports project teams in the development of design concepts, preparation of drawings, and production of presentation materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with schematic design and design development, drafting and modeling, assembling documentation sets, and coordinating details with senior designers and project managers. The Junior Designer will also help with material and product research, updates to drawing standards, and revisions based on client and consultant feedback. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues, participation in design reviews, and contributing to a professional, creative studio culture.
Qualifications
- Strong creative and visualization skills and the ability to resource precedent images.
- Foundational design and graphic skills, including proficiency with 2D/3D modeling tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Rhino or similar).
- Ability to create clear visual presentations, planning diagrams, renderings, and layouts.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with others and respond constructively to feedback.
- Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a studio environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Interest in a broad range of project types—commercial, residential, industrial, and municipal—and willingness to learn across phases from planning to interiors.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to be present on-site in Patchogue, NY during standard working hours.
