Graduate Finance Analyst
About the Role
Are you a recent Finance graduate looking to launch your career in financial planning, business analysis, and corporate finance? We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Graduate Finance Analyst to join our finance team. This entry-level role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about analysing financial data, supporting business decisions, and contributing to an organisation's financial performance.
No prior professional experience is required. Full training and mentorship will be provided to help you develop expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing financial reports, management accounts, and business performance reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights into business performance.
- Assist in preparing financial models and business case analyses.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Monitor budgets, costs, and operational expenses.
- Conduct market, competitor, and industry financial research.
- Prepare dashboards and presentations for management.
- Ensure financial data accuracy and maintain supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with finance and business teams on strategic initiatives.
- Support compliance with internal financial policies and reporting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Financial Analysis, or a related discipline.
- Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret financial information and present findings clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Eagerness to learn financial systems and analytical tools.
Preferred Skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Charts).
- Basic knowledge of Power BI, SQL, or Tableau.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage.
- Understanding of financial reporting standards and management accounting principles.
- Academic finance projects, internships, or placement experience are beneficial but not required.
