About Clark
Clark is a collaborative AI platform transforming assurance and audit work. Our AI agent, Ava, works alongside auditors during live engagements, handling substantive fieldwork such as testing full populations, tying out, vouching, recalculating, and preparing supporting workpapers.
We keep partners fully in control of judgment calls, client relationships, and final opinions — recognizing that licensed signatures matter more than ever in a data-driven economy. By automating routine work, Clark helps audit firms deliver faster, higher-quality audits and frees CPAs to focus on the analytical, client-facing work that drew them to the profession.
The Role
As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll help build and maintain the platform powering Ava and supporting audit teams worldwide. You'll work closely with senior engineers, product, and QA to ship backend features, fix bugs, and improve performance, reliability, and scalability — with real ownership over your work from day one.
We're looking for someone who codes because they love building — not just because they were taught to. If you've shipped side projects, hacked together tools with AI coding assistants, or built something powered by an LLM just to see if you could, we want to talk to you.
What you'll do:
- Implement and test backend features that power Ava's fieldwork capabilities
- Fix bugs and help improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
- Participate in code reviews and write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
- Help integrate new AI-driven capabilities into existing systems
- Work with product and QA to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Document your work clearly and contribute to team knowledge-sharing
- Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and practices alongside the engineering team
What we're looking for
- Solid foundation in computer science: data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
- Experience or coursework in software development with at least one modern language (Python, Java, C#, or similar)
- Understanding of back-end web development: APIs, databases, server-side frameworks
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming and ability to write modular, reusable code
- A degree (or ongoing studies) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Comfortable working on-site in a collaborative team, communicating clearly, and taking feedback constructively
- Familiarity with Git and basic testing practices
- A track record of "vibe coding" — self-directed side projects, hackathon builds, or personal tools, ideally with some shipped and shared publicly (GitHub, demos, etc.)
- Hands-on comfort using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) as part of your regular workflow
- Some experience building with or around LLMs — API integrations, prompt engineering, RAG, agents, or similar experimentation
Nice to have:
- Interest in audit or financial technology
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- A portfolio, GitHub, or demo link showcasing your side projects
Benefits
- Healthcare, Dental + Vision
- Wellhub Platinum Subscription
- Free Dinner everyday
- Unlimited PTO
How to Apply
Send us:
- Your CV
- Your GitHub profile
- A link to your favorite side project (GitHub repo, live site, or demo) and a couple sentences on why it's your favorite
Send it all to ew@getclark.com
We review applications on a rolling basis.
Clark is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don't check every box above.
