Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Space Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial office furniture, space planning, and interior design, with the ability to take projects from initial concept and space planning through specifications, estimating, and installation.
This position works closely with our sales, installation, manufacturing, dealer, and end-user teams to ensure projects are accurately designed, specified, quoted, and executed.
Essential Functions
- Design, space plan, and develop layouts and specifications for commercial office furniture and systems products.
- Prepare project estimates for sales team.
- Develop accurate furniture specifications and project documentation.
- Interpret CAD drawings, office furniture plans, cubicle layouts, and dimensional plans.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team, installation team, and manufacturing team to ensure successful project execution.
- Assist with 3D renderings and visual presentations to communicate design concepts.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, deadlines, and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 year of experience in commercial interior design, space planning, office furniture, or a related field.
- Must have knowledge designing systems furniture.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related area of specialization.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong verbal presentation and communication skills, with the ability to express project direction and design intent clearly and professionally.
- Knowledge of commercial furniture, materials, finishes, and design specifications.
- Working knowledge of ADA requirements and applicable fire codes.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Must be creative and think outside of the box.
Hardware & Software Requirements
Required:
- AutoCAD 2022
- CAP 20/20
- Furniture specification using CAP 20/20, including CAP Worksheet
- Knowledge of V-Ray & Rhino a PLUS
Preferred/Additional Experience:
- Visual Impressions 3D Rendering
- Microsoft Office
- Microsoft Outlook
