Job Summary
Our client is seeking a strong Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the month-end close and financial reporting process for a multi-entity, international organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely financials in accordance with US GAAP, while coordinating closely with an international accounting team operating under IFRS.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Close & Financial Reporting
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements under US GAAP
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the team
- Oversee consolidation of multiple entities and validate elimination entries
Global Coordination (US & Mexico)
- Coordinate with international accounting teams to align IFRS and US GAAP reporting
- Review foreign trial balances and ensure completeness and accuracy
- Oversee and review IFRS-to-US GAAP adjustments
- Ensure consistency in accounting treatment across all entities
Controls & Quality Assurance
- Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure proper review and certification of balance sheet reconciliations (BlackLine)
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, unusual fluctuations, and process gaps
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support external audits
Team Leadership & Process Oversight
- Manage and mentor a team of senior and staff accountants
- Ensure clear ownership of processes such as:
- Intercompany accounting and eliminations
- Payroll accounting
- Fixed assets and lease accounting
- Drive accountability and performance across the team
Consolidation & Analysis
- Oversee the consolidation process and review financial results across entities
- Perform high-level flux analysis and identify key drivers of financial performance
- Partner with the Financial Analyst to validate reporting outputs and insights
Continuous Improvement
- Improve close timelines, processes, and system utilization
- Drive standardization across entities and accounting processes
- Partner with leadership on scalability and operational improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA strongly preferred)
- 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in multi-entity and/or international accounting environments
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP; exposure to IFRS highly preferred
- Prior experience managing or reviewing a month-end close process
- Manufacturing Experience
- Experience with account reconciliation tools (e.g., BlackLine) preferred
- Strong understanding of:
- Intercompany accounting and eliminations
- Consolidations
- Internal controls
- Fluent in Spanish and English languages
Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
