Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Design Consultant Project Manager to lead and manage food service design projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service design, project management, and an understanding of kitchen equipment, layout optimization, and industry trends. This role requires excellent communication skills, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a passion for creating innovative food service solutions.
Position Description
Project Management:
- Oversee all phases of food service design projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project goals and timelines are met
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality
Design Development:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, operational goals, and vision
- Develop and present detailed design plans, including kitchen layouts, equipment specifications, and workflow optimization
- Ensure designs comply with local health, safety, and building codes
Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide regular updates, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction
- Offer expert advice on food service trends, sustainability practices, and efficiency improvements
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal and external teams, including designers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution
- Review and approve drawings, specifications, and equipment lists
- Coordinate and attend site visits, inspections, and project meetings
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to design standards, timelines, and budget
- Conduct final inspections and ensure all deliverables meet client expectations
- Resolve any project issues or discrepancies in a timely manner
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Five-plus years of experience in food service design, project management, or a related role
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, layout design, and operational workflows
- Experience in the food service industry is a plus
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and building codes
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy
- Innovative thinker with a passion for creating efficient, functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Skilled at managing and leading diverse teams in a collaborative environment
This role is a remote/hybrid position, with our home office in Springfield, PA. This role may involve both office work and on-site visits to clients, construction sites, and project locations. Travel may be required based on project needs.
Salary based on experience.
Standard Hours of Operation: Hours vary, but standard hours are 8am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
