We are seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing and supporting Java-based applications using modern frameworks, relational databases, and automated testing tools within an Agile development environment. The Java Developer will collaborate with developers, technical leads, business analysts, and other stakeholders to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain reliable, and scalable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot Java-based applications.
- Develop and support applications utilizing Java, Spring, and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Develop and maintain application components that interact with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Design, develop, and integrate application services and APIs in accordance with established technical standards.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code following software development best practices.
- Develop and maintain automated unit tests using JUnit or similar testing frameworks.
- Troubleshoot application defects, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to improvements in application architecture, code quality, and development practices.
- Work collaboratively within an Agile development team, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Manage development activities, defects, and user stories using Jira or similar Agile project management tools.
- Collaborate with technical and functional stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Support application releases, deployments, enhancements, and production maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced team members as appropriate.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, plus at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and/or supporting Java applications.
- Strong experience with Java frameworks, including Spring and Spring Boot.
- Experience working within an Agile software development environment.
- Experience using Jira or a similar issue tracking and Agile development tool.
- Experience developing applications that integrate with relational databases, such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Experience writing and maintaining automated unit tests using JUnit or a comparable testing framework.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), object-oriented programming, and modern software development practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned development activities while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Angular or another modern front-end framework.
- Experience designing, developing, or consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience with source control and collaborative development tools such as Git.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale or government applications.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior developers.
Pay: $50.00 - $90.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
