Summary/Objective
- Perform eCAV, Net-Inspect, and AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Control and maintain the calibration system to ensure all inspection and test equipment is within compliance and traceability requirements.
- Conduct and support internal audits in accordance with AS9100D; maintain auditor qualification.
- Perform and support supplier audits to ensure external providers comply with AS9100D and customer-specific requirements.
- Manage the MRB process, including disposition of nonconforming material in accordance with engineering and customer requirements.
- Generate Non-Conformances (NCRs) and drive Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA) to closure.
- Review manufacturing routers/travelers to ensure proper flow-down of requirements and completeness.
- Perform contract review to verify technical, quality, and regulatory requirements are defined and achievable.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including heat treat, plating, and special process requirements.
- Apply strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure product compliance.
- Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues, including nonconformances, corrective actions, and technical clarifications.

- Perform and review AS9102 First Article Inspection packages, including ballooning and characteristic accountability.
- Utilize eCAV and Net-Inspect systems to complete customer-required inspection documentation.
- Maintain and administer the calibration program, including scheduling, record control, and supplier coordination.
- Lead and support internal audits and corrective action follow-up in compliance with AS9100D.
- Plan, conduct, and document supplier audits; evaluate supplier quality systems and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Chair or support MRB activities, including root cause analysis and disposition (use-as-is, repair, rework, scrap).
- Generate and manage NCRs and CAPAs, ensuring timely closure and effectiveness verification.
- Review and approve routers/travelers for completeness, accuracy, and requirement flow-down.
- Conduct contract review to ensure alignment between customer requirements and internal capabilities.
- Provide technical support to production and inspection teams regarding drawing interpretation and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with customers and suppliers on quality issues, including investigation, root cause, and corrective action implementation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, 5-Why).
Competency
- Strong knowledge of AS9100D Quality Management System requirements.
- Proficient in engineering drawing interpretation and customer specifications.
- Advanced understanding and application of GD&T principles.
- In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, with the ability to create shop drawings.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.
- Frequent interaction with production, engineering, and inspection personnel.
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk the production floor and interact with manufacturing operations.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting to 25 lbs.
Travel Required
Minimal to none (occasional travel may be required for supplier audits).
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in aerospace quality engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with AS9102, eCAV, and Net-Inspect systems.
- Experience managing MRB, NCR, and CAPA processes.
- Certified or experienced internal auditor to AS9100D.
- Strong experience in drawing interpretation and GD&T application.
- In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, with demonstrated ability to create shop drawings.
- Experience with calibration systems and measurement equipment control.
Preferred Education and Experience
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent.
- Experience with aerospace OEM/customer requirements (e.g., GE, Boeing, Airbus, Collins, SpaceX).
- Experience conducting supplier audits and supplier quality management.
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and digital quality tools.
