Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and vision inspection systems
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, manufacturing documents, capable of doing U1A's, and technical specifications to verify dimensional accuracy and conformance to quality standards in production
- Perform dimensional measurements and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) analysis to ensure parts meet precise specifications
- Utilize coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for complex measurements and validate measurement data for accuracy and consistency
- Execute quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001
- Maintain detailed inspection records, non-conformance reports, and data collection logs for traceability and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend corrective actions aligned with quality management systems
Experience
- Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to regulated industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485), GMP, HACCP, FDA regulations, and regulatory/legal compliance standards in production processes
- Hands-on experience operating measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and vision inspection systems
- Familiarity with calibration procedures for precision measurement tools and understanding of GD&T principles for mechanical blueprint interpretation
- Ability to perform detailed data analysis, identify deviations from quality standards, and implement corrective actions effectively
- Mechanical knowledge coupled with the ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation accurately
- Basic math skills essential for precise measurements and calculations required during inspections
