Position Overview
California Wealth Advisors is seeking a motivated and client-focused Client Relationship Manager to join our Santa Barbara office.
We are looking for candidates with previous experience in wealth management, financial advisory services, banking, brokerage, investment services, or a related financial-services environment who are interested in building a long-term career in wealth management.
Candidates who currently hold Series 7 and Series 66 registrations are strongly encouraged to apply. We will also consider experienced candidates who are not currently licensed but are willing to pursue the required securities licenses.
This position combines client relationship management, account administration, advisor support, prospect follow-up, and wealth management operations. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working directly with clients, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and prospects.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Conduct proactive client and prospect outreach by phone and email.
- Coordinate portfolio reviews, prospect meetings, appointment confirmations, and follow-ups.
- Support client onboarding from initial paperwork through account opening and funding.
- Track outstanding client requests and follow up through completion.
- Maintain accurate client information, notes, and tasks within the firm's CRM.
Wealth Management & Account Operations
- Prepare and process account openings, transfers, rollovers, distributions, contributions, beneficiary changes, and account-maintenance requests.
- Coordinate with custodians, broker-dealers, product sponsors, operations, and compliance teams.
- Monitor account openings, asset transfers, deposits, investment paperwork, and signatures through completion.
- Prepare account summaries and materials for client review meetings.
- Assist with retirement, brokerage, advisory, annuity, and other investment accounts as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate client records and assist with DocuSign and electronic-document workflows.
- Follow applicable compliance, privacy, and supervisory procedures.
Advisor & Business Development Support
- Work closely with financial advisors to prepare for client and prospect meetings.
- Follow up with prospects and maintain consistent communication throughout the prospecting process.
- Coordinate meetings, priorities, and time-sensitive action items.
- Work with operations, compliance, marketing, and external business partners to resolve client matters.
- Assist with client seminars, webinars, educational events, and post-event follow-up.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in wealth management, financial advisory services, banking, brokerage, investment services, or a similar financial-services environment.
- Active Series 7 and Series 66 registrations OR a willingness to pursue required securities licensing.
- Experience working directly with clients in a professional environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through completion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to learn CRM, custodial, and financial-services technology.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and regulatory professionalism.
- Ability to satisfy applicable background-check, fingerprinting, registration, and licensing requirements.
A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred. Relevant financial-services experience may be considered in lieu of a specific degree.

Licensing & Career Development
We are looking for someone who wants to grow within the wealth management industry and take on greater client relationship responsibilities over time.
Applicants who already hold securities licenses are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates who are not currently licensed may have the opportunity to pursue securities and insurance licensing, subject to firm and broker-dealer requirements and sponsorship eligibility.
Schedule & Location
- Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- In-person in Santa Barbara, CA 93101
- Occasional evening or weekend availability for client events and seminars
Applicants must be able to reliably commute to the Santa Barbara office or relocate before beginning employment.
Compensation & Benefits
$24.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience, qualifications, and licensing.
