Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Parsippany, NJ
Salary: $87,500 - $125,000
We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the development, testing, and validation of mission-critical software for advanced power, control, and electromechanical systems. This role will work closely with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams to design, implement, maintain, and verify embedded software solutions in a highly regulated engineering environment. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, software architecture and design, coding, debugging, testing, configuration management, documentation, and system validation throughout the full software development lifecycle.
Education & Experience
- Experience: 2 to 7+ years of embedded software development experience.
Technical Skills
- Core Language: Strong proficiency in C for embedded applications.
- Additional Languages: Experience in C++, C#, or Python is a plus.
- Hardware & Tools: Knowledge of microcontrollers, DSPs, JTAG/emulator-based debugging tools, and version control systems.
- Development Practices: Familiarity with coding standards, static analysis tools, code optimization techniques, and quality-focused development practices.
Engineering Capabilities
- Software architecture and design
- Embedded systems debugging
- Software verification and validation (V&V)
- Formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes
- Technical documentation development
This is a full-time, onsite position that includes work in both office and engineering laboratory or manufacturing environments. Employees may occasionally be exposed to machinery, noise, vibration, and other industrial conditions while following established safety procedures.
Pay: $87,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
