The Pay, Perks, & Benefits
- Range: $77,400 - $82,500. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and determined based on market benchmarks and internal equity

How You Will Help the Team
The ATDM Marketing Communications Lead at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) coordinates and supports marketing and communications initiatives that advance the mission of Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) and the Manufacturing Advancement division. This role plays a key part in promoting Southern Virginia as a hub for manufacturing advancement and workforce development.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented marketing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can successfully manage multiple projects and priorities. The ATDM Marketing Communications Lead will collaborate with internal and external partners to increase program visibility, strengthen brand consistency, and support IALR's leadership in the manufacturing sector.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Advancement Marketing and Communications Team within the IALR Marketing and Communications Department.
What You Will Do
- Implement marketing and communications strategies that align with organizational goals and priorities.
- Develop and manage content for social media platforms, websites, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
- Lead digital marketing campaigns targeting diverse stakeholder groups using platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Constant Contact.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance to support strategic decision-making and stakeholder reporting.
- Coordinate the development and distribution of marketing materials while ensuring adherence to brand standards.
- Support media relations efforts by monitoring media coverage and maintaining media contact lists.
- Assist with planning and promoting workshops, conferences, outreach activities, and special events.
- Coordinate with external vendors, including marketing agencies and other service providers, to support project execution and information gathering.
- Stay informed of emerging marketing trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance program effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Five or more years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, social media tools, email marketing systems, and content management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Experience with marketing automation and email marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Constant Contact.
- Experience supporting event marketing, media relations, and brand awareness initiatives.
- Experience working with external vendors, marketing firms, or agency partners.
