The next CFO for BEDS Plus will manage a staff of seven which includes the controller, grants accountants, senior accountants, HR manager and medicaid administrator. The ideal candidate will apply their experience and knowledge to strengthen financial infrastructures that a quickly growing organization needs.
Core responsibilities include the following:
30% Oversee financial accounting function for the organization
- Oversee Controller’s preparation and reconciliation of monthly financial reports and month-end closing.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure proper oversight of agencies’ financial policies/procedures and ensure their compliance.
- Responsible for facilitating the agency’s budget process including department specific budgets, mid-year revisions and support for grant reporting. Create periodic reports and projections of spending by department to ensure adherence to the budget.
- Responsible for cash management oversight and monitoring of investment accounts.
- Track agency investment accounts.
- Management of annual audit.
- Responsible for oversight of the representative payee program monthly monitoring and reporting
- Ensure financial compliance with Federal, State, County administrative standards and GAAP.
30% Oversee grant (fund) accounting function for the organization
- Monitors program costs and budgets. Tracks spend-downs.
- Works in tandem with the Compliance Officer to manage grant spending and projections.
- Oversight of government grant schedule and monthly monitoring of contract billing submission.
- Manage and direct work of the Grant Accountant(s) to process billing in a timely and accurate manner.
20% Oversee the creation of Medicaid administration and the administrator
10% Oversee the Human Resource Manager and related HR Issues.
10% Participation in Agency Leadership activities
Requirements: Bachelor’s in accounting and at least five years of non-profit accounting experience, CPA preferred.
