Project Manager Assistant - Federal Construction
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain the project log – which tracks submittals, RFIs, change orders, subcontracts, bading, for each specific project.
- Create and issue subcontracts
- Compile and track all subcontractor’s ceritifcates of insurance, SF1413,s W9s and all other required paperwork
- Be proficient in certified payroll
- Distribution to subcontractors of all returned submittals, RFIs, or just general project documentation
- Compile all monthly invoices from vendors and subcontracts, present to the Project Manager and follow-through until given to Accounts Payable
- Assist the project manager with document gathering for all RFPs, owner change requests, or subcontractor change orders
- Enter all subcontracts and subcontract change orders into the accounting system (ComputerEase)
- Attend all project meetings as requested by the Project Manager, taking notes/minutes as required
- Project Closeout – collecting all record information, warranties, cleaning instructions, O&Ms, etc from all subcontractors and formatting into the appropriate turnover form to the Government.
- Assist the project manager as necessary with creating the project budget, making budget adjustments, and entering these items into the accounting software.
- Need to have a basic knowledge of budgeting and expenses to understand the purpose and need for adjustments
Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of construction experience with a General Contractor, subcontractor, or construction-management firm is preferred for experienced applicants.
- Federal government construction experience is preferred but not required.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. Relevant construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Familiarity with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build construction is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to read and develop familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Procore and Bluebeam is strongly preferred.
- Experience with ComputerEase is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience reviewing submittals and generating RFIs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting NAVFAC, USACE, GSA, U.S. Coast Guard, or other federal construction projects
- Procore and Bluebeam experience
Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
