Metallurgist – Elk Grove Village, Illinois
Reports to Quality Manager and CEO
We are seeking a Metallurgical professional to work closely with our team members to solve problems, support continuous improvement, and help implement initiatives that create a positive customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains a quality system to assure that all products treated by FPM meet customer specifications and achieve the standards established by ISO 9001.
- Provides technical assistance to customers.
- Establishes Heat Treat process recipes that conform to customer specifications.
- Assumes personal involvement with certain customer projects.
- Performs failure analysis as needed.
- Recommends process improvements.
- Responsible for overseeing Lab Technicians / Lab duties.
- Participates in formal audits.
- Will be familiar with ISO and NADCAP specifications and requirements.
- Other projects as the job may require.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science.
Demonstrated competence in Metallurgy. Heat Treat experience preferred.

Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
Self-starter, aggressive yet personable, excellent time management skills.
Works well with people as a good team-member.
1 - 5 year's experience in Heat Treating or a related field is a plus.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
