Interior Designer | Part-Time, Hybrid (opportunity to grow Full-Time if desired)

Cambridge Design is a boutique, full-service interior design firm based in McKinney, Texas, specializing in elevated residential and commercial interiors, custom new construction, renovations, and thoughtfully curated furnishings.
As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for a talented and experienced Interior Designer to join our team in a part-time, hybrid position, with the opportunity for the role to expand over time.
We are seeking someone with a strong design aesthetic, excellent technical skills, and a passion for creating beautiful, thoughtfully designed spaces. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a boutique design firm.
Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts, material palettes, and cohesive selections for residential projects.
- Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallcoverings, finishes, and accessories.
- Create floor plans, elevations, technical drawings, and renderings.
- Prepare client presentations, mood boards, and product specifications.
- Collaborate closely with our Principal Designer and design team to execute the overall creative vision.
- Maintain organized and accurate design documentation across multiple projects.
- Assist with design development for new construction, renovations, and furnishings projects.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional interior design experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable drafting software.
- Experience with SketchUp, rendering software, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong knowledge of residential furnishings, materials, finishes, and trade resources.
- Experience producing detailed drawings, specifications, and client presentations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage assigned design responsibilities independently.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, positive attitude.
- Luxury residential design experience is a plus.
Position Details
- Part-time with the potential for Full-time based on candidate, approximately 22-28 hours per week
- Hybrid schedule with designated in-office days in McKinney, TX
