As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee and strengthen our financial operations.

Position Overview

The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, overseeing cash flow, budgets, and compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to company leadership. This position is remote-friendly, with occasional in-person meetings for annual reviews or strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance reports.
Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and job-costing reports.
Manage cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, and ensure timely vendor and client payments.
Maintain and improve internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
Collaborate with management to analyze financial performance and identify growth opportunities.
Supervise bookkeeping staff or third-party accountants and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Oversee year-end closing processes, audits, and tax documentation.
Support cost analysis for materials, labor, and project profitability.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
5+ years of accounting/financial management experience, ideally in construction, landscaping, or service-based industries.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, cash-flow management, and budgeting.
Experience with QuickBooks Online (or similar accounting software).
Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and reporting dashboards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with remote teams.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $84,182.82 - $101,381.46 per year
