Job Title : Kong Developer / Architect
Location : 100% Remote EST / CST
Duration : 12 Months +

Key Responsibilities: - API Gateway Management:
Deploy, configure, and manage Kong API Gateway in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. - API Development & Integration:
Design, develop, and implement APIs using Kong, including custom plugins and backend integrations. Experience with API orchestration is required. - Security & Performance:
Enforce API security policies (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS), optimize performance, and ensure high availability and reliability of APIs. - Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Implement monitoring (e.g., Dynatrace, ELK) to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring smooth API operation. - Collaboration & Documentation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, operations, security) to integrate APIs seamlessly. Maintain comprehensive documentation. - Automation & Best Practices:
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and promote best practices for API management (versioning, access control). Terraform automation experience is required.
Required Qualifications: - Kong Expertise:
Proven experience with Kong API Gateway, including architecture, plugin development, and management. - API Design & Development:
Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, OpenAPI specifications, OIDC, and microservices architecture. - Scripting & DevOps:
Proficiency in Lua, Python, and experience with DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes). - Cloud & Security:
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and API security tools (OAuth, OIDC, Auth0). - Problem-Solving & Communication:
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
