Equity Research Analyst
JCSU Capital Management | Part-time, Volunteer / Hybrid (campus + remote)
Summary
Support the club’s equity research and portfolio decision-making. You’ll perform company and industry analysis, build valuation models (DCF, comps), produce investment memos and pitch decks, and present actionable buy/sell/hold recommendations to the leadership team. This role gives hands-on experience in equity research, idea generation, and investor communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental research on public companies and industry sectors.
- Build and maintain financial models (forecasting, DCF, comparable company analysis).
- Produce clear investment memos, pitch presentations, and one-page stock briefs.
- Monitor news, earnings, and market data; update valuation and thesis as needed.
- Present research findings to the club and recommend trades for the club portfolio.
- Work with other analysts to synthesize sector insights and support portfolio construction.
- Contribute to quarterly performance reports and research publications.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student (Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related).
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; basic valuation/modeling knowledge.
- Demonstrated interest in equity markets (coursework, personal investing, or clubs).
- Clear written and verbal communication; attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or market data platforms.
- Ability to turn complex analysis into concise, client-ready deliverables.
- Self-starter attitude, intellectual curiosity, and teamwork focus.
