St. Agrestis, producers of the Phony Negroni, started making Italian-inspired spirits in 2017 before launching the non-alcoholic Phony Negroni in 2022. In three years, the Phony Negroni® has penetrated the United States with careful distribution partnerships and best practices, a keen focus on a strong on-premise foundation and grass roots marketing efforts. The company, while leading the category, knows they are just scratching the surface of the brand's potential.
About the Role
This role is split into two sub-roles - both focused on sales. 50% is travel-based and the other 50% is in the New York Metro Area (requires a car). Geographically speaking, the ideal candidate should live close enough to NYC to have easy access to the city and airports but be able to also work the suburbs easily.
Compensation will be mostly base salary with an ability to earn bonuses based on sales milestones. Base salary range: $65k - $78k.
Travel-Based Sub-Role (about 50% of time)
Getting distributor reps excited about the brand is contagious and it carries on long past the visit's conclusion - that is the main focus of this sub-role. We are looking for a Sales Specialist who will spend half their time visiting these cities. At this time, cities of priority would be the markets in which the company does not have a full-time market manager but domestic travel to any US city is expected. Market visits will be planned and coordinated with local distributors but some independent work will be required on most visits.
The ideal candidate is charismatic with strong presentation skills, including in front of large groups of distributor reps, organized and self-motivated.
This portion of the role will be managed and coordinated in collaboration with ownership.
NYC-Based Sub-Role (other 50% of time)
The rest of the role, in between travel time, will be spent impacting the local market here in the NYC metro-area, our strongest and most established market. Day-to-day responsibilities will include building a sales route, visiting prospective bars, restaurants and retailers and making sales into those accounts.
The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit, is excited by an outside sales role, strong organization and communication skills and ability to close sales.
With St. Agrestis headquarters being in Brooklyn, NY, the candidate would be expected to join sales meetings in Brooklyn at least once a month and will report into St. Agrestis ownership and the St. Agrestis NYC Sales Director.
Qualifications
This role requires sales experience of 1-2 years and a proven track-record for self-starter success. Beverage sales experience is preferred but not required.
Please note: business related travel expenses will be paid by St. Agrestis in both sub-roles.
