Objective / Project Overview
The ES team will provide comprehensive mechanical design support to project DRIs
Within The EMC Design Engineering Team. Key Responsibilities Include
- Designing and validating mechanical parts, e.g. fixtures and tools, for EMC
automation systems. Supporting system bringup, debugging issues and
implementing robust solutions.
- Collaborating with EMC Design DRIs to develop system mock-ups.
- Collaborating with EMC Test Engineers for test system development & deployment
- Supporting EMC Technologists for CAD preparation.
- Work with our team to pick a supplier and order parts.
- Documenting best practices, SOPs and maintaining a library of proven designs.
Requirements
Location must be SCV area, in-person work 5 days per week is required.
Skills
- Minimum
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a 2+ years of experience.
- The ability to perform mechanical design & validation, including the development
of component or material evaluation tests, and failure analysis.
- Expert in using 3D CAD software to design parts with complex geometry
- Exposure to diverse manufacturing techniques such as CNC, 3D printing, sheet-
metal stamping, and materials such as polymers, glass, and metals. Good
understanding of DFA/DFM, and statistical tolerance analysis.
- Ability to write and maintain clean documentation for design processes.
- Desired
- Experienced with electromechanical integration, such as sensors, motors, motor
drivers, wire harnesses, and communication buses.
- Experienced with simulation and analysis methodology (FEA, MATLAB etc.)
- High energy personality with a real passion for learning and attention to detail.
Success Criteria/Definition of Done
- Completion of mechanical design and validation for ESD automation HW1.5.
- Support all mechanical design requests from EMC team during this period and
successfully implement the solutions.
Salary Range: $63,400-$130,000 a year
