Role Description
H.A. Automotive Systems, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support ongoing production initiatives for upcoming programs. This role is instrumental in analyzing, optimizing, and supporting assembly line operations to improve productivity, quality, and overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and redesign assembly line layouts to optimize material flow, ergonomics, and productivity.
- Conduct time studies and develop standardized work, SOPs, and line balancing documentation.
- Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and enhance throughput.
- Support selection, installation, and integration of new equipment within existing production lines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve issues and improve operations.
- Lead continuous improvement activities including Kaizen events and 5S implementation.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, cycle time, first-time quality, and labor utilization.
- Provide engineering support for product launches and model changes on the line.
- Assist in developing PFMEAs, updating control plans, and conducting layered process audits.
- Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors for tooling, fixtures, and layout modifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific standards.
Required Skills:
- Process optimization and lean manufacturing expertise
- Proficiency in assembly line layout and ergonomic design
- Strong data analysis and KPI tracking capabilities
- Development of technical documentation and standard work instructions
- CAD/CAM software proficiency
- Simulation modeling experience (e.g., FlexSim, AnyLogic)
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving methodology
- Familiarity with automation and robotics integration
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (required).
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (Required)
- Experience: Equivalent experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role may be considered in lieu of degree.
Additional Information:
- Experience with automotive industry standards and practices is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949, PFMEA, and control plans is a plus.
- Prior experience with Ford, Tesla, or GM programs is advantageous.
- Mandarin proficiency is a plus, particularly for effective collaboration with bilingual team members or cross-functional teams.
