· Work hours: flexible (40 hours a week).
2. Reporting
· Reports to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering.
3. Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Related Discipline Desired.
4. Training
· On-the-job training will be provided by Wytech and outside vendors as needed.
5. Skills· ComputerØ Proficient in use of CAD and/or SolidWorks computer aided drafting program.Ø Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook.· Machining/EquipmentØ Familiarity with basic machining principles and equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders.Ø Hands on mechanical aptitude and ability to work with basic hand tools and machine shop equipment.Ø Use of precision measuring tools, both manual and computerized.Ø Familiarity with CNC programmed equipment preferred.Ø Knowledge of material and mechanical properties of metal such as stainless steel and nitinol desired.· General SkillsØ Able to work independently with limited instruction and supervision.Ø Ability to work on a cross-functional team and be open-minded to differing suggestions and opinions.Ø Ability to effectively communicate with peers, subordinates, and customers both verbally and written.Ø Capable of prioritizing multiple projects and tasks at once and able to track and record results on a timely basis.Ø Ability to focus on key details while also keeping in mind the big picture goals and company initiatives.· EngineeringØ Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and apply findings to improve process controls/capability.Ø Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and offer feedback to customers on methods to improve manufacturability.Ø Ability to identify and implement lean manufacturing opportunities.Ø Ability to utilize six sigma methodologies.
6. Experience
· Previous experience in a mechanical / industrial manufacturing environment required.
· Previous experience in a team environment desired.
· Previous experience working in medical device or highly regulated industry is strongly desired.
· Six Sigma Green Belt training is preferred.
· Lean Manufacturing training preferred.
7. Responsibilities and Authorities· Customer Focused:Ø Periodically communicate with customers on clarifications regarding drawings, specifications, and tolerances to ensure adequate and optimal manufacturing practices are utilized.Ø Review customer drawings and specifications to assess feasibility and estimate lead times.
· Process Improvements and Cost Reduction:
Ø Determine, evaluate, and improve process capability of manufacturing equipment.
Ø Work with operators and mechanics to standardize and optimize equipment setups.
Ø Reduce department consumable costs through alternate sources and more efficient use of consumables.
Ø Write, execute, and document experiments performed to improve existing process, develop new processes, and/or manufacture new products.Ø Obtain input from machine operators and work with machinist on new concepts and designs for manufacturing tools and fixtures.Ø Utilize lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste throughout manufacturing processes, improve produce flow, and increase efficiencies to reduce costs and decrease lead times.Ø Utilize six sigma methodologies such as design of experiments (DOEs) to characterize and build understanding of manufacturing processes.· Compliance to Specifications, Metrics, and Regulations:Ø Drive manufacturing solutions to ensure that site is set up to meet key metrics including but not limited to scrap, on-time delivery, non-conformances, and scheduled attainment.Ø Improve visual aids and work instructions to drive compliance to part drawings/specifications and industry regulations.Ø Work with production and quality teams to investigate and troubleshoot investigations for non-conformances, scrap, and customer complaints.
· Equipment Focus:
Ø Prepare and execute validations on new, upgraded, and relocated equipment.
Ø Determine proper PM (preventative maintenance) of manufacturing equipment.
Ø Design and source new machinery for production use.
Ø Troubleshoot and repair issues on existing production equipment. This may involve working with outside contractors and machine vendors as well as sourcing required equipment parts/components.
· Physical:
Ø Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
Ø Required to work/stand on concrete floor for extended periods of time up to 6-7 hours per day.
8. Travel
· Both domestic and international travel required as needed to visit customers, vendors or attend trade shows or seminars.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
